Deeper than Deep

Page 3

the relationship with the primary text means
we cannot predict where the path will lead us

where the path leads us is not our business
the content of the path not primary

what is most primary in relationship with this primary text
will be viewed diversely among us
and may change many times for any one of us ~

with no confusion between secondary means and primary text

sitting on the bed reading about techniques of love-making

one cannot speak of the taste of the Beloved's Wine
studying the history of wine-making

if you keep playing with sand on the shore

how shall you ever give a sweet kiss to the Sun
if you don't stop staring at the moon?
